Description
Map of eastern North America from Canada to the Carolinas. Includes inset map of Newfoundland. Cartographic elements include compass rose and locations of rivers and capes. Scattered over the map are scenes of native Americans roasting a person [cannibalism], fighting amongst each other, and hunting. Also includes native American dwellings, sea monster, ship, angel, trees, and animals such as moose or deer.
There are at least three states of this 1685 edition. The map in this third state includes place names, some of which appear other than where the places actually are.
